Photo left: Circa 1927 L-R Ada & Pearl Bryan with brother, Les, trying to look as though he belongs behind the wheel. The first car Les bought was a 1928 4 cylinder, Plymouth 4 door with a rumble seat. Photo right: The second car, purchased in 1932, was a 1929 Desoto sedan (pictured left). The "cabin" portion was built of wood and covered with metal. In the car he purchased, the wood was rotten so Les dug it out and rebuilt the inside. He took most of his cars apart and rebuilt them. Les with Roy's wife Daisy ca 1930 at
Roy and Daisy's farm in Saskatchewan. In the summer of ca 30, when Les was 14 years of age, he left Vancouver to go to Saskatchewan and help work the farm of his older brother Roy and Roy's wife, Daisy. For the occasion a suite, which was a little too big for his boyish figure. By the end of summer, after lots of heat and hard work, and a growth spurt, Les's suite looked on the small side.
