- In the 1900 US Census Rangdi
is registered as the wife of Ole Rolien living in Maple
Grove Township, County of Crow Wing, Minnesota. She
was 50 years old (born in September 1849), had been married
for 33 years, had 12 children (11 living at time of census)
and 6 were still living at home of which the youngest,
Olivia, was 8 years old. She had been born in Norway
and immigrated to the US in 1870. She could read and
write and speak English.
RESEARCH NOTES:
It is not confirmed but believed
the Rangdi Johannson of this page is the same person as Rangdi
Johannesdatter in Norway's census of 1865 who was born in
Vingers Prgj. [Kongsvinger] in 1949. At time of census she
was unmarried, working as a "tjenestepige" [servant]
and living at the domicile Spetalen in Vinger. There
was no one by the name of Rangdi Johannson in the following 1875
census of Norway. [It is also noteworthy that verbal
information passed down by later family members said Emma (nee
Rolein) Irwin's mother came from Kongsvinger, Norway.]
