- In the 1900 US Census Ole is
registered as the head of the family in Maple Grove Township, County
of Crow Wing, Minnesota. He was 54 years old (born in Dec
1845), had been married for 33 years, had 12 children (11 living at
time of census) and 6 were still living at home of which the
youngest, Olivia, was 8 years old. He had been born in Norway
and immigrated to the US in 1868. There were some part numbers
and letters for his occupation but unreadable. He could read
and write and speak English.
RESEARCH NOTES:
- It is not confirmed but believed the
Ole Rolein of this page is the same person as Ole Rolansen in
Norway's census of 1865 who was born in Kloster Stavanger Amdt in
1845. At time of census he was unmarried, working as a "skomagersvend"
and living at street number 295 Ostervaages Rode in the Municipality
of Stavanger with the Ole Bellessen family. There was no one
by the name of Ole Rolansen in the following 1875 census of Norway.
