Notes for Charles "Charlie" Seth THORNE

  • Both Charles Thorne and his wife Minda were born in Hillier (Prince Edward County) Ontario.  They were married in 1882.  They farmed in Hillier until moving west to Indian Head in 1907.  There they farmed seven miles north-east of town of Indian Head.  In 1931 they moved into town and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.   They lived to celebrate their 70th anniversary the same day Charles' mother, Cleo (Chamberlain) Thorne celebrated her 91st birthday in Vancouver.

Charles and Minda had one son, Harry, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

  • Charles and Minda are both buried in Indian Head.
